A Mafia boss and his family are
relocated to a sleepy, insular French village after ratting out the mob. “The Family” stars Robert DeNiro as reformed
mob boss Fred Manzoni who wants to change his life, but has difficulty staying
in line with the witness protection program.
The Manzonis are completely out
of their element in rural France. They ultimately revert to their old habits,
handling their problems the “family” way. After a store clerk criticizes
her French-American accent, the hot-tempered Mrs. Manzoni, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, burns down a local grocery store.

Despite the best efforts of an irritable
CIA Agent (played by Tommy Lee Jones) to keep the family safe, the Manzonis
cannot help but regress to their old ways and eventually blow their cover. Ultimately their former mafia ‘associates’
track them down and send over goons to take them out of commission.
The action comedy, “The Family”
was written and directed by Luc Besson (“The Professional,” “The Fifth Element”
and “La Femme Nikita.”) Starring along
side Robert DeNiro and Tommy Lee Jones, are Michelle Pfeiffer who plays DeNiro’s
wife, Maggie, and Dianne Agron (of Glee) and John D’Leo, who play their
children.
