Michael Urie’s Thank You For Judging features the best
of the best high-school students as they come to be judged at the mother of all
Speech and Debate competitions, the Texas Forensic Association’s State
Competition. Actor and forensics veteran
Michael Urie’s award winning documentary captures the stories and enthusiasm of
speech competitions familiar to students across the country.
These kids
compete by playing all the characters from a madcap stage play, interpret aloud
the autobiography of a ninety year old, speak from the heart about labels and
stereotypes, or argue the rights and wrongs of the latest in politics in the
process. They will tug at your heartstrings
and tickle your funny bone as they learn not only about public speaking, but
also confidence, adult relations, and self-presentation both in appearance and
eloquence.
