she suffers a ruthless betrayal and lives a life bent on revenge.
Jolie’s juicy role humanizes the villain from “Sleeping Beauty”
and turns Maleficent into a female blockbuster. Maleficent portrays the realm of two rival
kingdoms – the world of humans and the moors; fairies, trolls and wickermen and
the young fairy Maleficent who is fascinated by humans in a neighboring land. Years later after suffering a ruthless betrayal when her
wings are cut off and she is scorned, her pure heart turns to stone and she becomes bent on seeking
revenge.

Maleficent stars Angelina Jolie along with
Elle Fanning as the cursed Princess Aurora, Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley and
Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville and Juno Temple as the king’s flying pixies.
The film was directed by Robert Stomberg in his first directorial debut.
