NEW MOMMY & ME MATINEES AT THE RIALTO OF WESTFIELD

By: Jamie Gribbon

A lot changes when you have a child. But one thing that parents won’t need to sacrifice is enjoying a first-run Hollywood film in a movie theater. Starting April 11, 2012, the Digiplex Rialto Theater of Westfield will begin new “Mommy & Me” digital cinema matinees every Wednesday.  Mothers, fathers and other caregivers are invited to bring their children for showings specially tailored to viewing movies with an infant in the next seat or on your lap.
The sound is lower to protect sensitive ears, the lights will be a bit brighter, there’s valet “parking” for strollers in the lobby, and changing stations are located in the restrooms.
Each Wednesday Mommy & Me Movies matinee will be a choice of the same six first-run Hollywood productions playing that evening, but for a matinee price of $8.50 (children under three are free).  Doors open at 11:45 a.m. with movies scheduled between 12:20 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. (check www.digiplexdest.com for exact times).
Moms & caregiver have NOW the chance to catch a flick with their children &
 other moms & friends.
“We think this gives new meaning to the words ‘baby pictures,’” says A.Dale “Bud” Mayo, Digiplex Destinations chairman/CEO. “During these special matinees, our customers shouldn’t be embarrassed if their child starts to wail or fidget. Crying is allowed and nursing will be commonplace. The movie will still be louder than any grunting or fussing.
“Besides, they’ll be surrounded by a sympathetic audience – a room full of understanding parents and caregivers,” Mayo said.
The Digiplex Rialto Theater is located at 250 East Broad Street in Westfield, N.J. For more information: www.digiplexdest.com. or call us at 908-232-1481.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: POSTPONED

If you are one of us who was planning to bringing the kids to watch 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' tonight or on Wednesday April 4th, we got some bad news for you: They have been postponed. NCM Fathom sent as a note regarding the reasons why these events will not be shown on these dates. According to Donny Osmond's  management and through their content partner, Donny is sick and has been placed on indefinite vocal rest by his doctors.
As a result, we have removed the shows and dates from our website and announced on our Facebook page and Twitter account that the events were postponed without any certain dates yet.

We truly hope that Donny gets better soon and that he will be able to have his Vegas shows rescheduled as soon as possible.  Please check our website DIGIPLEXDEST.COM for more updates.

Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake in 3D on March 20

Who has not seen Swan Lake at a school play or even on the big screen. But who has seen it on 3D and with all men? Well, you have the chance to watch it this coming Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Digiplex Bloomfield 8 located at the Wintonbury Mall in Bloomfield, CT.
Here are some fun facts and details about the performance, NCM Fathom and More2Screen proudly present Matthew Bourne's triumphant re-interpretation of one of ballet's classic and most beloved stories, Swan Lake. Winner of three Tony® Awards this mesmerizing and stunningly powerful performance comes to select movie theaters. Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake in 3D turns tradition upside down by replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble and was pre-recorded at Sadler's Wells, London in 2011 with a stellar cast, including the magnificent Richard Winsor as the lead Swan/Stranger, Dominic North as The Prince and Nina Goldman as The Queen. This special interpretation of Swan Lake incorporates a theatrical storyline into the classic ballet-making it a must-see for both dance enthusiasts and theatre fans alike. Edgy and dramatic, Matthew Bourne tells the eternal story of tragic and forbidden love with dynamic modern day flair.
