As Hitler was attempting to conquer the western world and destroy the Jews, his armies were pillaging the finest art in Europe.  The Monuments Men were a group of men tasked to rescue these masterpieces from Nazi thieves in Germany and return them to their rightful owners. 

Based on the true story of one of the greatest treasure hunts in history, The Monuments Men portrays a platoon sent into Germany by FDR to rescue stolen masterpieces.  Comprised of an unlikely group of museum directors, curators and art historians, The Monuments Men risked their lives to find and protect the millions of art treasures stolen and hidden by the Nazis.

The Monuments Men was co-written, produced and directed by George Clooney.  Also starring in the film along side George Clooney are Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray and John Goodman.

The second in a trilogy of films adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece, The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins is back again with the Wizard Gandalf in the adventures of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.  Legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield leads the dwarf crew on an epic quest to reclaim their homeland, the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor and the Lonely Mountain.

The fabled story set in Middle-earth, continues the adventures of the diminutive hero Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman) and his co-hort Gandalf the Grey (played by Ian McKellen).

After surviving their unexpected journey, the crew travels East encountering treacherous enemies in the form of Goblins, giant Spiders, dangerous Wood-elves and ultimately the dreaded Dragon Smaug.  A creature more terrifying than all others, they must face Smaug, the last great dragon of Middle-earth who claimed the treasures of Erebor and the Lonely Mountain.

The epic fantasy adventure film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was co-written, directed and co-written by Peter Jackson.  Starring along with McKellen and Freeman are Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Richard Armitage, Luke Evans, Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom.
