Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake in 3D on March 20

Who has not seen Swan Lake at a school play or even on the big screen. But who has seen it on 3D and with all men? Well, you have the chance to watch it this coming Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Digiplex Bloomfield 8 located at the Wintonbury Mall in Bloomfield, CT.

Here are some fun facts and details about the performance, NCM Fathom and More2Screen proudly present Matthew Bourne's triumphant re-interpretation of one of ballet's classic and most beloved stories, Swan Lake. Winner of three Tony® Awards this mesmerizing and stunningly powerful performance comes to select movie theaters. Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake in 3D turns tradition upside down by replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble and was pre-recorded at Sadler's Wells, London in 2011 with a stellar cast, including the magnificent Richard Winsor as the lead Swan/Stranger, Dominic North as The Prince and Nina Goldman as The Queen. This special interpretation of Swan Lake incorporates a theatrical storyline into the classic ballet-making it a must-see for both dance enthusiasts and theatre fans alike. Edgy and dramatic, Matthew Bourne tells the eternal story of tragic and forbidden love with dynamic modern day flair.

The Nutcracker from the Royal Ballet Series Dec 16- 22

Thanks to the promise of Digital Cinema, your Digiplex Destinations theaters in Westfield NJ and Bloomfield CT are bringing 'The Nutcracker' from the Royal Ballet. The Nutcracker, a beloved holiday tradition for generations of families around the globe, will be shown in HD starting on Friday December 16 until Thursday December 22 at the Digiplex Rialto Theater of Westfield NJ and at the Digiplex Bloomfield 8 Theater in Connecticut.

Classical ballet at its most approachable and visually entrancing. A seasonal favorite with something for everyone to enjoy, Hoffman's story tells of one Christmas Eve, when young Clara creeps downstairs for one of her presents, but instead finds herself at the start of a night of magical adventures as the Christmas tree magically grows and the toy soldiers come to life to fight the Mouse King! The beautifully colored imaginings of the fantasy Sugar Garden and its celebratory dances make a fabulous contrast and Peter Wright's production tells the story clearly from its mysterious start to its happy conclusion. Through it all, Tchaikovsky's music is some of the most instantly memorable of all ballet, with a wealth of famous melodies.
