Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters at Digiplex Destinations




Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, is on a quest to retrieve the mythical Golden Fleece and save his home.  This fantasy adventure film portrays Percy’s epic journey to fulfill his destiny and prevent an ancient evil from rising.

Although he struggles with self-doubt, Percy has the support of his friends including Tyson, who he finds out is his half-brother. Tyson is a Cyclops who possesses special abilities - he is immune to fire, can breathe underwater and communicate with monsters and sea animals.

These skills come in handy as they embark on a perilous journey into the treacherous Sea of Monsters. Trying to save Camp Half-Blood, Percy and Tyson face terrifying creatures, zombies and the ultimate evil from Polyphemus in their quest for the Golden Fleece.
 
Based on the Rick Riordin novel “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters,” the film is a sequel to the 2010 film "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief."  In a new twist, Stanley Tucci stars as Mr. D and injects the humor that the character was known for in the books.

They’re back; better than ever, in a live action animated sequel, "The Smurfs 2" that won’t disappoint loyal Smurf fans.  Set in Paris, the evil wizard Gargamel (played by Hank Azaria) creates Naughties, Smurf-like creatures designed to provide him with the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence

Although Gargamel is a rich and famous sorcerer living in Paris, he needs Smurf-essence to create his magic and keep up his charade.  He sends his Naughties back to Smurf Village to kidnap Smurfette (Katy Perry) to help him harness his powers.

When two Smurf-like imposters kidnap Smurfette, it is up to Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Grouchy and Vanity to rescue her with the help of the Smurf-friendly human couple (played by Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays).

Papa Smurf is played by the late comedian Jonathan Winters, who joins "The Smurfs 2" cast members George Lopez as Grouchy, Christina Ricci as Vexy, Anton Yelchin as Clumsy, John Oliver who plays Vanity and Brendan Gleeson as Victor.

The Wolverine at Digiplex Destinations


 

Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, returns with an explosion onto the big screen to modern day Japan.  Starring Hugh Jackman, Wolverine is forced to relive his past and return to his life as a superhero despite his reluctance.

It's Turbo Time at Digiplex!


IT’S “TURBO” TIME AT DIGIPLEX


“Turbo” is a high-velocity 3D action packed comedy about a lonesome garden snail that dreams of becoming a super charged racing legend.  During a freak accident, his impossible dream comes true and he achieves super speed becoming the fastest snail in the world.

Ryan Reynolds plays Turbo, a lazy slowpoke garden snail who spends his days whimsically snacking on tomatoes while  daydreaming of becoming a professional racer.  Turbo’s nights are spent glued to the TV watching NASCAR, emulating his idol, Guy Gagne (played by Bill Hader).

Hader’s hilarious French Canadian accented Gagne, tells fans, “No dream is too big and no dreamer too small.”  Turbo worships Gagne and lives by these words.  He never gives up hope, despite his cynical snail brother’s constant reminders (played by Paul Giamatti). 

When a freak accident occurs and Turbo is transformed into a super charged speed demon, his life changes in a flash.  Tito, a plump taco truck driver, recruits him for the Indy 500 with in his pit crew played by Maya Rudolph, Snoop Dogg and a barking Samuel L. Jackson.  Turbo races in the famed Indy 500 and the high-speed action ensues, it’s a real snail biter.

"Pacific Rim" at Digiplex Destinations Theaters





An alien attack by legions of giant monsters beneath the Pacific Ocean drains humanity’s resources and millions of lives as it threatens Earth’s existence.  Set in the near future, Pacific Rim” is a thrilling and imaginative science fiction epic directed by Guillermo del Toro.

Enormous amphibious dragons, called Kaiju, rise beneath the depths of the ocean floor to decimate major cities and threaten the planet. Cities disappear into rubble in this unstoppable force by these mammoth alien monsters.

In an effort to save humanity, massive robots piloted by humans are deployed to combat the Kaiju’s destruction. These 25-story high robots, called Jaegers, are controlled by two human pilots positioned inside them.

Pacific Rim’s” Jaegers are operated simultaneously by two pilots whose minds must be in sync with each other by a process called Drifting.  This process opens up a total mental exchange between the two pilots and forces them to share intimate details of their lives with each other…exposing their fears, beliefs and values. 

Since each pilot operates half of the Jaeger robot working in unison, they feel each other’s happiness and pain intensely.  This leads to an extraordinary ride and thrilling action as the Pacific Rim” pilots must overcome their differences in an apocalyptic effort to save the world.

"The Lone Ranger" Hi Yo Silver! Away! to Digiplex

The thrilling adventures of the masked man, The Lone Ranger,” and his side kick are brought to life through the eyes of Tonto, the proud Native American warrior (played by Johnny Depp). More than the simple side kick, Tonto is the powerful character through whom the story is told.

The Lone Ranger’s” John Reid (Armie Hammer) is an idealistic city educated lawyer who lives by a strong moral code.  He arrives in a small Texas town in 1869 hoping to bring about change and modernization.  During an ambush that kills his brother, Reid is rescued by Tonto and vows to take revenge against greed and corruption and fight against injustice.


Fans of the original “The Lone Ranger,” the first western series made for television in 1949, will be reminded of its main themes; John Reid, The Lone Ranger, Tonto, the trusty sidekick who refers to the Lone Ranger as “kemosabe" (trusted scout) and the faithful horse, Silver.
